The
international airport is in the main city of Lihue. There are
direct flights into Lihue on Continental and United from San
Francisco. If you do happen to get a connection through
Honolulu remember that the inter-island flights stop around
6pm, so make sure you fly in before that or you’ll have to
spend the night in Honolulu.

HANALEI BAY NAMED THE NATION'S BEST BEACH

HANALEI, Hawaii (AP) - For people wanting a beach
getaway, it may not get any better than Hawaii's Hanalei
(ha-na-LAY') Bay. The crescent-shaped beach on Kauai is No.
1 on this year's list of the top 10 beaches in the U.S.
Leatherman calls Hanalei's sheer beauty "breathtaking" --
with emerald mountains, white sand and blue water.

If you are coming from the south, east or west shores, take
Kuhio Highway
north towards Hanalei. Six miles after
the town of Hanalei, on your right-hand side, you’ll find a
sign for the Hanalei Colony Resort. Turn right into the
resort’s driveway. On the left-hand side of the parking lot
you will see a sign for the Hanalei Day Spa. The
Ayurveda Center of Hawaii is located there as well.
Located in a small
town known as Haena, Hanalei Day Spa is on the
island’s North shore approximately 45-60 minutes from the
airport and only 15 minutes down the road from Hanalei. |
